Tattoo Aftercare Guide by Dermadonna Custom Tattoos
Ensuring the longevity and vibrancy of your new tattoo is paramount. We’ve created this step-by-step guide to make sure your tattoo heals beautifully. If you have questions regarding the tattoo healing process or how to care for a new tattoo, you’ve come to the right place.

First 24 Hours

  1. Leave the bandage on for 3 to 5 hours.
  2. Carefully remove the bandage and gently wash the tattoo with mild soap and water.
  3. Pat it dry softly using a clean towel.
  4. Lightly apply a dab of Bepanthen cream or pure coconut oil.

    Week 1 Tattoo Care

    • Cleanse your tattoo twice daily with soap and water.
    • Always pat dry with a fresh towel.
    • After cleaning, moisturize with a small amount of Bepanthen cream or pure coconut oil.
    • Scabbing over the tattoo is a natural phase of the healing process. Please refrain from picking it.
    • Don’t be alarmed when the scab flakes off—it’s completely normal.

    Week 2 Tattoo Care

    • Wash your tattoo at least once daily.
    • Combat itchiness or dryness by applying a modest amount of Bepanthen cream or pure coconut oil (make sure your hands are clean).

Important Tips For The First Two Weeks

    • Showers? Yes. Baths, swimming pools, saunas, sea, lakes, sunbeds, and tanning? No. Always avoid direct sunlight.
